AlphaLab Signal Report field guide

Distribution access is a product gate, not an afterthought.

A credible AI-business playbook needs more than a clever workflow. It needs a way to reach real people, permission to use the channel, and a feedback loop that proves whether anyone cares. This checklist is the distribution side of the Signal Report rubric.

The quick test

If the team cannot name the approved account, the exact audience, the first post, and the measurement artifact, distribution is still a blocker. Owned SEO can keep the product surface fresh, but it does not replace human-facing distribution.

Owned surface exists

Strong: There is a live page, clear CTA, and clean disclosure language that a cold reader can inspect.

Weak: The idea only exists inside screenshots, internal chats, or a private Notion page.

Posting authority is explicit

Strong: The operator can post from an approved account without using someone else’s personal identity by surprise.

Weak: Everyone assumes access exists, but no one can produce the account, role, or posting rule.

Audience fit is named

Strong: The first channel maps to a real reader: builders, SMB owners, traders, creators, developers, or buyers.

Weak: The launch plan says “post on social” without a specific community or reason that audience should care.

Feedback path is measurable

Strong: A post URL, reply count, click path, opt-in, checkout, or email response can be recorded after publishing.

Weak: The team can say “we distributed it” but cannot point to a public URL or response metric.

Credential dependency is surfaced early

Strong: Missing credentials become a product blocker with a default fallback, not a vague waiting state.

Weak: The product keeps shipping owned pages while pretending it has tested demand.

Before the first post goes out

  • Use the latest weekly digest, not an old launch URL.
  • Lead with the problem the audience already feels.
  • Ask one specific question that invites useful replies.
  • Avoid revenue guarantees, investment advice, and identity confusion.
  • Record the public URL immediately after posting.

Where this fits in Signal Report

The public teardowns score proof quality and hidden labor. This page adds a hard channel-access check: even a high-proof idea is not launch-ready if it cannot reach buyers through an approved path.
